- To select the 7z file, you have two options: Click ' Select 7z file to convert ' to open file chooser. Drag and drop the 7z file directly onto ezyZip. It will list all the PGN files in the 7Z archive. IF your archive is password protected, enter it at the prompt and then click 'Set Password'. Click the green 'Save' button to save individual pgn.

May 08, 2012 PGN Files and Scid. PGN is the standard format for chess games, and Scid will happily open and display large game archives. But PGN is not the native format of Scid's Databases. It takes a little learning, but using Scid Databases instead of PGN is highly recommended.

Virtually all chess database and engine software supports PGN files, so you are able play through the moves and analysis in our DVDs and videos on a board, and analyse with a computer.
There is plenty of suitable chess database software, much of it free, available for all common operating systems. Additionally, many online chess servers support uploading PGN files for playback in your web browser (chess.com and lichess.org are two).
